I am fascinated by systems which teeter between science and fiction, such as artificial intelligence, biomechaniods, roots, automation, family units, hierarchies, and circuitry. In my practice I explore how these systems, logical yet chaotic, can be elegant and purposeful, but also confused and irreparably tangled.

My paintings and drawings move between spontaneity and deliberation; between stream-of-consciousnesses and controlled mark making. Sometimes I draw and redraw. Sometimes I add and obliterate marks and color, at turns erasing, concealing and revealing. They are created with a combination of drawing and painting on both paper and canvas, with acrylic paint and ink, graphite, dry pigment, oil pastel, oil stick, spray paint, palette knives and my fingers.
